Custom designs at Highland Jewelry Mart are as easy as 1,2 and 3. We will expertly guide you through the idea, design and manufacturing process to insure your custom designed piece comes to fruition. We can custom design any jewelry item including rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings.

Step 1 (The Sketch)

Our custom design process begins with a personal discussion of your ideas for your custom jewelry. We will explore your likes, dislikes and expectations during this process. After we understand the design that you looking for, we will prepare a sketch for your review and approval.

Step 2 (Carve The Wax Model)

After you approve the sketch, we will use it as a guide to carve a wax model. This wax model will be carved from a block of jewelers modeling wax and will represent the near exact shape and size of the finished piece. This is a crucial step in the custom process and it provides you the opportunity to closely examine the model to insure that the finished piece meets your expectations.

TIP: If you ever had custom jewelry designed by another jeweler and you did not review and approve the wax model, you may have paid for a custom design and actually got an off the shelf item.

Step 3 (The Finished Piece)

After you review and approve the wax model, we begin making the item. The wax model will be used to cast your custom design. The finished casting will exactly match the wax model in platinum, gold or silver. Following the casting process your custom piece will be finished, stones set and finally buffed and polished.
